I just received a call back from the crisis line to check and see how I’m doing!! I had just googled the first number I found on google and it went to them. It’s a National number but based on your area code you will be routed to your state! I talked to Mary 2 nights before I went to the mental hospital and she was so great. And I was able to just cry and speak my truth and get some comfort and support from a stranger!! The next 2 nights I called 911 and had a bit of a bad experience but the cops were still so nice and good! One 25 year old cop just needed a life and career lesson to provide all people with empathy!!! In crisis, bi polar, trauma mode, depression, drugged out, drunk…. They all deserve compassion cause most of the time they can’t control thier thoughts, words, and actions! Sometimes people will get physical though (I never have ) but if someone does obviously the cops have the right to protect themselves within reason of course! And there are of course some people who are just mean and assholes and they deserve the same type ot lack of respect that they show law enforcement and medical staff and first responders!
