Ahh I’m so excited about starting my own foundation for mental wellness!! As I was swimming laps peacefully, I think I thought of an awesome name!! Stopping The Stigma at Stef’s Safe Space!! What do you think? I need to come up with a bad ass mission statement! My ultimate goal is to have a big office space that is welcoming and colorful and comfortable with lots of areas with different coping skills like music, movies, dance and workout classes, crafting, scrapbooking, painting etc!! There will be volunteers and peer support specialists and people will be able to talk with others who have empathy, can help, be a friend, and can guide them to other helpful and important resources! This will be a place people can go to prevent going into crisis and needing to be hospitalized and heavily medicated!! I’ve tried to write a book off and on the last 11 years to share my story but my computer crashed twice and I was having a hard time deciding how to tell my story. I started a YouTube channel 3 years ago called Ending the Stigma with Stef but I was in crisis and then heavily medicated so it’s all over the place! You can still check it out if you’d like. I also started a blog called the importance of having a voice, but that didn’t last cause I had to pay a couple hundred dollars to renew and didn’t. But now after being obsessed with all of these documentaries on Netflix and Hulu, my plan is to write to as many producers as I can to have a documentary made about my life! I will first make my foundation a legit official legal non profit and then I will start having some fundraisers like fancy parties, big bingo nights hopefully at the TDD union hall, bake sales, 50/50 raffles, and a suggestion from a friend was to take people to lunch to explain my mission and ask for donations! I know this is my mission and purpose in life!! I may not officially be a medium but I feel my angels with me all the time and can feel what they are saying to me… for example… you’re amazing! You’re a bad ass! I’m proud of you! It’s your time to shine! You got this! Keep going! We are here for you! I felt my Gramps Fritz with me so hard when I was driving on the freeway yesterday! He was a bad ass fire chief and union president and knew how to be heard and get shit done!! I felt him telling me all the things I wrote above!! I had a good cry cause I miss him and also just so thankful for what’s to come! I’m sitting in the jacuzzi at the gym as I write this and I’m smiling and excited! I know I have a lot of friends in person and on my Facebook who are supportive and willing to help me reach my goals and make my dreams a reality! Thank you so much!! For now, I’m trying to just stay humble and not get too far ahead of myself and just enjoy each day and make steps to get shit done!! Love you all!!
